I’m Heather, a communications professional, wannabe creative person, millennial, spouse and mom based in Washington, DC. Though I’ve never been a professional writer (unless you count my years as a resume writer and the hundred bucks I made at 25 blogging about online dating), I’ve been writing my whole life, in one form or another, as a way to process what was going on around me and in my head. And as I start this blog there is a whole lot going on – I’m sure I’m not alone in my curiosity about what the history books will say about the year 2020. Of course, 2020 has also brought a lot of changes for me personally, not the least of which is that I turned 35 and quit my full-time PR job without any real plan for what’s next.
So here we are – me figuring it out and working to build up these creative writing muscles again, and you along for the ride. I have a lot to say about mental health, motherhood, and public health, but love an in-depth conversation about skincare or pop culture just as much. I hope that with this site, I can work a few things out (what am I supposed to be doing with my life?!) and you can relate or at least get a little entertainment out of it.
